Join us for a new Qi Gong class – ancient Chinese exercises for health & fitness

Come and join us in Oakham on Thursday 13 September for a new class of traditional Qi Gong health exercises.

All welcome: Special 6 week introductory course.

Traditional Qi Gong is practised in a slow, relaxed manner.

Through the regular practice of Qi Gong you can develop your strength, health and energy. Classes consist of warm ups and stretching to release energy blockages, in conjunction with ancient Chinese exercises, and a variety of Qi Gong sets. With time, you can progress and deepen your understanding of Qi Gong.

The Qi Gong exercises you will be learning have been used for thousands of years to increase health, well-being and generally raise our spirits – and most importantly to relax in a stress-free environment.

Material includes:

  • Baduanjin (8 Pieces of Silk Brocade): Performed to invigorate and strengthen the whole body
  • Shibashi (18 Qi Gong exercises): Soft and flowing movements based on Tai Chi
  • Zhan Zhuang (Standing Post) – standing meditation to cultivate internal energy
  • Simple movements to help develop the feeling of Qi

Summer sun..and a new tai chi term…

Hope you’re all enjoying your holiday – and finding a little room for some tai chi of course!

Here at Wing Tai Chi we’re looking forward to a new term starting on Friday, September 13 – all are welcome.

We’ll be adding some new exercises to our Preps, new Qi Kong exercises and, of course, continuing our work on the Traditional Yang Family Form.

If you feel like it, add some Preps and a little of the standing Qi Kong exercises into your day and you’ll soon notice a difference in the way you feel – especially if you start your day off with it. It will work wonders for when you start back too!

Meanwhile, Julie and I are just about to pop off to Portugal for two weeks so we’ll raise a glass of wine to you and I’ll think of you as I practice my tai chi on a balcony overlooking the sparkling blue sea just as the sun is rising. Very relaxing…
